Hey there!

9 * 7 = x * 9

9 * 7 = 63

63 = x * 9

x * 9 = 63

9x = 63

Divide 9 to BOTH SIDES

9x/9 = 63/9

CANCEL out: 9/9 because that gives you 1

KEEP: 63/9 because it gives you the x-value

x = 63/9

63/9 = x

x = 7

9 * 7 = 7 * 9

The number that belongs in the blank (your answer) is: 7

Good luck on your assignment and enjoy your day!
