David drove 20 miles in 5 mins. Sean drove 45 miles in 9 mins. Who drove at a faster rate? Explain.

Sean drove at a faster rate because if you divide each miles/minutes then it gives you how many miles per minute they drive. 20/5 is 4, and 45/9 is 5, and 5 is greater than 4.
